About Us
Merced Behavioral Center is a locked 96-bed skilled nursing facility located in Merced, California, that has been serving the community since 1973. Merced Behavioral is licensed by the California Department of Health Services and the California State Department of Mental Health and our facility has been awarded a 5-star quality rating by the Department of Public Health Services.
At Merced Behavioral Center, our main emphasis is placed on helping our residents gain an understanding of their illness and helping acquire the necessary coping skills for successful community placement.
Our Special Treatment Program provides rehabilitative services for residents with a diagnosis of a major mental illness. We provide 24-hour nursing care for our residents by our psychiatric nursing staff. The STP provides 16 hours of structured programming daily provided by our professionally trained staff. We are guided by MBC’s “Provocative Proposition”, a challenge to all employees to consistently provide the highest standard of care to our residents.
